Straight Talk.....about kid's sandals

From Rick....the shoe guru!

The first thing to get straight is that Columbus, GA has a "2 Sandal Summer."

It's barely mid-March and already it's hot ... and it will stay hot till October. That's 6 or 7 months! You wouldn't expect your child to wear a regular shoe for 7 months - same thing with a sandal.

Sandals, by their nature, don't fit as exactly as a closed shoe. For a young child I would recommend a closed back and closed toe. What's worse than a stumped toe? A young child needs the support of a more closed-in shoe. As they age then you can move to open toe, open back and flip flops.

So, what do you buy? Every shoe retailer, including the Kiddie Shoppe, will have the broadest & best selection right now. I would buy a sandal that fits now and then one in the next size up. You know you will need the next size.....what you don't know is what we'll have left in late June or July!

One last thing. If you put them in those Crocs be sure to put them in the dishwasher once a week. The material they are made of holds bacteria.

If you've got specific questions just give me a holler at 706.327.0334 or rick@kiddieshoppe.com

Everyone at the Kiddie Shoppe is an EXPERT 'shoe-fitter'. We look forward to helping you select Spring Sandals!
